Superman 80 Page Giant #1 -- My late-coming Superman hankering is going to be scratched!

Avengers: Standoff, Iron Man: Armor Wars Prologue, Iron Man: The End, Iron Man: Iron Monger -- Four collections filled with armored action! (I will be passing on these, as I already own all of the material collected therein as singles.)

Justice Society of America #23 -- Black Adam's back and this time... well, I guess he's always kind of mad, isn't he? I mean, that's his thing, right?

Unknown Soldier #3 -- Into the flood again.

The War That Time Forgot #9 -- Leave it to this title to take a simple concept like soldiers fighting dinosaurs and make it all complex.

Nova #21 -- The Nova Corps is back, Ego the Living Planet just showed up, and DARKHAWK! Oh heck yes!

glamourpuss #5 -- Anything that isn't "The Eighties!"

Journey v.2 -- Holy crap, I haven't even started the first one yet!

Kids in my home state are starting back at school this week, but never fear!  Break out of those "Back to School" grumpies with some solid 4 Color therapy.

Batman And The Outsiders #10 -- Which threat to tackel, extraterrestrial or terrestrial?  What a choice!

Flash #243 -- Can Wally save his reputation and his daughter at the same time?

Guardians Of The Galaxy #4 -- Why is this is a "Secret Invasion" crossover?  This book was doing just fine by specifically not touching the "main" Marvel U.

Iron Man #32 -- Sadly, the last issue of this excellent title which will star the titular hero before the changeover and then relaunch for War Machine.

Twisting your knee in a charity sumo wrestling match and then travelling to southern Texas will really put a crimp in your blogging style, let me tell you.  Luckily I can get some new material pretty easily.

Millenium TPB -- I got your Secret Invasion right here!

Tiny Titans #7 -- I can always count on this title to perk me up each month.  Such consistancy is a good thing.

Captain Britain and MI:13 #4 -- What is the fate of the United Kingdom, and of our titular hero, in the Secret Invasion? Oh I'm a-flutter with excitement.

The heat the last few days in South Carolina has been practically unbearable, even hitting triple digits.  Hopefully it's cooler where you are!  Luckily, we can all chill out with some fine reading material from our local comic shop and beat the heat.

Creepy Archives HC -- I won't be buying this one, but man, all these hardcovers of the classic genre mags are very, very cool!

Final Crisis #3 -- Let the nuking begin!  

Hawkman Special #1 -- Carter Hall gets a solo story in the middle of Holy War, and this might lead to a solo series?  Color me intrigued.

House of Mystery #4 -- When I say that reading this gives me Sandman flashbacks, know that I do not say that lightly.

Showcase Presents: House of Secrets v.1 -- See what I said about the Creepy HC?  Goes for phonebooks, too.

Storming Paradise #2 -- Quite possibly the most thought provoking concept for a miniseries in a long time.

Tor #4 -- All Kubert, all the time, this one just screams quality.

War That Time Forgot #4 -- This may be "The Book That Everyone Forgot" but I don't know why, because it's pretty darn cool.

Invincible Iron Man #4 -- Soon to be the only Iron Man series.  This one is good, but the senior title was better, so I am going to go be an annoyed Iron Fan for a bit.

Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas #2 -- When did the first one come out?  It's Granov, so that is to be expected, but still.

Venom: Dark Origin #1 -- Is Eddie Brock going to reclaim the title of Venom?  Or is this going to be more revisionist stuff?  We'll see.

Trying to deal with the opressive summer heat?  Your local comic book shop typically has air conditioning, as well as other activities to take your mind off the weather.

Joker's Asylum: Two-Face #1 -- Continuing the trend of Dent-heavy Batmaterials I am interested in as of late.

Justice Society Of America Annual #1 -- Power Girl takes a trip to Earth-2.  The new Earth-2.  This is either going to be really cool, or involve a lot of trips to Wikipedia.

Nova v.2: Knowhere -- This is what I get for not buying this title right off the bat.  I only have myself to blame.

Caliber #4 -- Soon to be a major motion picture, evidently.  

Journey v.1 -- I was introduced to this series in the pages of The Complete normalman, and I knew I had to track it down.  Sometimes things work out for the best.

Project Supowerpowers #5 -- As more and more heroes are released from their prison, how will the world respond to these time-displaced mystery men?

Yikes, big bill this week from the two trade paperbacks...

I think everyone is still reeling from all the money they spent going to see The Dark Knight last weekend, but hopefully you saved some cash for your weekly fix, right?

Two Face: Year One #1 -- Just in time for the aforementioned 4 Color Cinema, we get a glimpse of Harvey Dent's origin -- in two parts, naturally.

Captain Action: First Mission, Last Day -- The master of disguise gets put through his paces in this new adventure from Moonstone.

Futurama Comics #38 -- Wackiness abounds in the mind-boggling world of the 30th Century!

glamourpuss #2 -- Wackiness abounds in the mind-boggling world of high fashion lunacy!

Back on track here at the Bunker, so you know what that means!  Time to spend spend spend!

Conan The Cimmerian #1 -- Can't afford to pick up a new ongoing, but this new series detailing Conan's homecoming looks pretty amazing.

Batman And The Outsiders #9 -- Everything is coming to a head in the best straight action title DC publishes, as Dixon gets ready to step down.

Batman: Faces TPB -- Not buying this one, as I own the singles, but a good opportunity to see this awesome Matt Wagner Two-Face story.

Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge #1 -- Johns and Kollins on the Flash?  Pretty close to a no-brainer.

Flash #242 -- Meanwhile, in the main Flash series, Wally faces trouble from all sorts in fronts in what has been a fast-paced and fun story.

Showcase Presents: Hawkman V.2 -- Adama just got me the first volume, so I am tempted...

Tiny Titans #6 -- More adorably all-ages action from Artie and Franco.

Iron Man #31 -- The lone Marvel book on the list, but at least it's a top-shelf one.

Well, that delay wasn't so bad, now, was it?  What's a mere day when all the Four Color Goodies are waiting for your consumption?

Final Crisis: Requiem -- I'm still peeved about the death of the Martian Manhunter.  But I guess I have no one to blame but myself.

Justice Society Of America #17 -- One thing I like about Geoff Johns' work is that, typically, even with big events his titles always have something big going on.  Like here, for instance.

Captain Britian and MI:13 #3 -- I'm not sure where this is going, but the last issue was good enough to make me want to find out.

Guardians Of The Galaxy #3 -- The craziest book Marvel publishes.

Invincible Iron Man #3 -- Armored action; easy call!

Iron Man: Legacy of Doom #4 -- Last issue featured Shellhead's armor with a plume on the helmet.  A plume!

Nova #15 -- Lesson #2382: Don't mess with the Devourer of Worlds.

Dead, She Said #2 -- Hard-boiled horror?  Sounds about right.

There's something about a holiday week at work, when you know it's going to be a little shorter, that makes you want to just go out and spend money.

House of Mystery #3 -- The Mystery deepens!  So far this series has hit on all cylinders out of the gate, and I am really looking forward to the next twist.

Storming Paradise #1 -- I only got into War comics in the last few years, but this setup (the US being forced to invade Japan in WWII) would have convinced me even if I wasn't.

Tor #3 -- Adventure from One Million Years Ago!  All you people complaining of "event fatigue" need look no further.

The War That Time Forgot #3 -- As if soliders vs dinosaurs wasn't badass enough, let's add gladiatorial combat to the mix.

Well, this is going to be frustrating, because I have a lunch meeting on Wednesday, and have to work late, and then am leaving town on Thursday, so, yeah, all these lovely comic books are going to have to wait at the store this week.  Dang!

Conan The Cimmerian #0 -- I'll pick up this low-cost preview of the new series just to see the setup.

Final Crisis #2 -- Not being able to read this means I will have to avoid the entire internet until I can get to the shop!

Caliber #3 -- It's beautiful and mind-boggling all at once.

The Phantom #24 -- The Ghost-Who-Walks in it deep right now, so it's time to bust some skulls and hand out some Deep Woods Justice.

Project Superpowers #4 -- More heroes return; more bad stuff goes down!

Wow, looks like I am immune to the big "Marvel flood" this week!

This weekend is HeroesCon up in Charlotte, but if you think that is going to stop me from buying new comics this Wednesday, you're wrong, pal!

Batman And The Outsiders #8 -- Well, Chuck Dixon's time on the title is limited, so it will be interesting to see where the team ends up when he finishes with them. In the meantime, of course, the you-know-what is really going to hit the fan!

Flash #241 -- The battle against Spin and Gorilla Grodd continues, as the fate of Iris and Jai hangs in the balance. I am not sure if Tom Peyer is staying on long term or not, but so far this has been a cool adventure.

Showcase Presents: The Flash v.2 -- My wife just got me Essential Avengers v.6, I still haven't started Essential Iron Man v.3, and I have Showcase Presents: Superman v.1 sitting unread on the pile. Yikes!

Guardians Of The Galaxy #2 -- After the setup and teaser last time, I have been eagerly anticipating this cosmic craziness.

Iron Man #30 -- The Director of SHIELD brings it techno-thriller style. Even with Stuart Moore filling in for the Knaufs, this book remains top-tier.

I started on a new project at work this week, which means a new cubicle, a new phone number, and some new coworkers.  But it's good to know a world where things are always changing, some things you can almost always count on!

Tiny Titans #5 -- It's the feel-good comic book of the year, without irony.

Captain Britian And MI:13 #2 -- AKA Secret Invasion Goes All Mod.  The first issue was a little underwhelming, so I am hoping this one knocks my socks off.

Iron Man: Legacy Of Doom #3 -- I think it's safe to say that if, somehow, this creative team could do the regular Iron Man title, I'd probably die from the sheer joy.

Justice Society of America #16 -- I can honestly say that I did not see the last issue ending the way it did.  But I would definitely like to see more of Citizen Steel doing the "unmoveable object" routine.

Tor #2 - I think DC should take more chances and publish off-beat stuff like this title.  The first issue was quite good, and really quite different from anything else I have read in a while.

The War That Time Forgot #2 -- See what I said for Tor.  I'd really like for DC to bring back just one War anthology title -- I'd write an 8-page WTTF back-up for a very reasonable rate!

Invincible Iron Man #2 -- Everybody's favorite cool exec with the heart of steel faces the threat of "Advanced Genocide Mechanics" and the son of Obadiah Stane.  Oooh my.

Nova #14 -- As a general rule, having the Silver Surfer show up as a guest star is a good thing.  That goes double for Galactus.

Delayed, delayed, always delayed! Having a holiday on a Monday throws my whole week off, it's good to know that even a day later than normal all your favorite four color goodies are waiting for you at your local comic shop.

Action Comics #865 -- Johns' "Rogue Profile" issues on Flash were always a highlight, so I figured it was only a matter of time until he did one here. And, after Busiek's work on making Prankster not only relevant but downright cool, I am eager to see what Johns does with Toyman.

Final Crisis #1 -- The DC event you've been waiting for! Or, at least, I have been waiting for, as all the spit hits the fan once more.

Futurama Comics #37 -- I'm always glad to see this title in my pullbox, as I think we all could use a little levity now and then.

Caliber #2 -- This is not listed on the Diamond list, but Newsarama sez it's coming out this week, so we shall see if the Arhturian West rides on, or if I have to wait a bit more.

I'm going to be heading out of town for Memorial Day this weekend, but it's good to know that my comics will be sitting at home, waiting for me when I get back.

Batman And The Outsiders #7 -- Outsiders... in... SPAAAAAAAAACE! (And what's this about BATO tying into "Batman: R.I.P.?" Unless it's Geo-Force assuming command, I call shennanigans.)

Flash #240 -- It seems that my opinion of the new Rogue Spin puts me in the minority. Big shock there.

Justice Society of America #15 -- Ooh, what direction is Johns going to go in? Feature a cameo from a character only I like, or kill off more villians created by Mike W. Barr (that magnificent bastard)?

Iron Man #29 -- The new Invincible Iron Man may be splashier, but this remains the best title Marvel publishes.

Nothing beats coming home from a hard day at the office and unwinding with a tall, ice cold comic book. What looks refreshing this week?

Batman vs Two-Face TP -- One of the main benefits of having your favorite villian appear on the big screen is the inevitable tie-in merch.

Tiny Titans #4 -- I don't know if anything can top the Jericho bit from last issue, but we shall see.

Captain Britian and MI13 -- Time to see how Cornell handles this new Excalibur. Except it's not Excalibur. Sorta. Also, I hope there is not too much "Secret Invasion" nonsense.

The All-New Iron Manual -- It's like OHOTMU, only for techies and engineers. Who happen to be Iron Fans.

Guardians Of The Galaxy #1 -- Rocket Racoon!

Iron Man: Legacy of Doom #2 -- I think this is about as close to a "no brainer" as you can get for me.

The Phantom #23 -- Continuing Moonstone's biggest story ever for The-Ghost-Who-Walks.

Project Superpowers #3 -- After the debacle of the FCBD Special, I just hope this makes more sense.

And, since I obviously didn't get to go to the shop last week, here's a retro-themed look at what looks good from last week.

House of Mystery #1 -- Could this signal the return of other DC Weird books? One can only hope.

Tor #1 -- I don't know why this caveman saga keeps drawing my interest. Maybe because it was a DC Explosion book at one point?

The War That Time Forgot #1 -- War Heroes! Versus! Dinosaurs!

Invincible Iron Man #1 -- Still a little shaky on a Shellhead comic that the "mainstream comic press" likes so much, but we'll see soon enough.

Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas #1 -- There was a pretty cool Shellhead story set in Vegas in the last days of volume 3. I imagine this one will sell better.

Nova #13 -- I'm still riding on the post-"Annihilation Conquest" wave, so I guess now is the time to re-check out this very cool series.

Wow. Just wow. That's way, way too much stuff! Yikes!

Just because there are free comics coming out this weekend doesn't mean you can't spend actual money on new comics today!

DC Universe #0 -- DC has not really steered me wrong with their cheap, blanket-marketting comics yet, and this one sounds really good anyway.

Avengers: The Initiative #12 -- I'll admit, I'm a sucker for seeing Tony and Rhodey together.

Caliber #1 -- It's Arthurian Legend in the Old West! That's genius! Also, only a buck!

Glamourpuss #1 -- I'm usually willing to give Dave Sim a chance, and this weird mix of comics and fashion sounds too weird to overlook.

As inevitable as the changing tides, Wednesdays always bring delight and joy to the unwashed masses of nerd-dom.

X-O Manowar: Birth HC -- You couldn't make a series like this nowadays. Time travelling barbarians wearing high-tech suits of alien armor are so passe.

Wow... I can't recall a week where there wasn't a single comic coming out that I intended to purchase. But, I guess it works out well, since I am leaving town tomorrow! I am travelling to sunny Florida for my cousin's wedding. I'd say that I'd be back on Monday with a recap of what I read, but looks like I won't be reading any weeklies! So I hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll see you back here next week!

There comes a time, in every young person's life, where they say to themselves, "I am going to go out and do something for ME for a change." Typically, this happens every Wednesday (except sometimes around holidays).

Batman And The Outsiders #6 -- You know, I imagine that soon the main difference between this title and James Robinson's upcoming Justice League will be that one book has the ghosts of Ralph and Sue Dibney in it, and the other has Congorilla.

Flash #239 -- Continuing Tom Peyer's first arc for the Fastest Man Alive. It'll be interesting to see if the Internet turns on him, as well.

Superman #675 -- Busiek's swan song on Big Blue's junior title. I'm very annoyed that I cannot afford Trinity (though my bank account is breathing a sigh of relief).

Annihilation Conquest #6 -- You just know that everything is going to hit the fan in this one. I wonder, will we get the third chapter in the saga next year, or will Marvel time it out a bit?

Iron Man #28 -- This double-sized issue features the blowoff of the current (and insanely awesome) Mandarin storyline. Conspiracy theories abound: is this the Knauf's last issue for Shellhead? Is this title changing to Nick Fury: Director of SHIELD? I sincerely hope not, on both accounts.

Iron Man: Legacy Of Doom #1 -- Dave Michelinie! Bob Layton! Ron Lim! Doctor Doom! Camelot! What more could you want?
