What Looks Good?

It's hot as heck here in South Carolina, with storms rolling in.  Let's hope we can all withstand the weather with some nifty comics.

Action Comics #900 -- Lex Luthor and Doomsday?  Oh my.

Brightest Day #24 -- It's all come to this!  The Elemental forces of Earth against the all powerful Dark Entity!

Flash #11 -- It's been so long since I read an issue of The Flash that it is not even funny.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #2 -- Rodan and Anguirus in the hooooouse.

Marineman #5 -- Who is the mysterious old man who has trapped Steve in his undersea fortress?

So, what looks good to YOU?

#80 In A Four-Issue Limited Series

One of my favorite new titles is IDW's GI Joe: A Real American Hero.  This title picks up where the original Marvel series ended, with GI Joe creator Larry Hama starting with issue #156 (well, #155 1/2) and continues the story directly from the old series.  It's great fun and has a lot of vocal supporters.  Now, Transfans want to get in on the action, too!

Check out this link on Newsarama where we learn about the petition amongst Transfans to get IDW to publish a classic Transformers comic written by long time TF scribe Simon Furman, picking up with issue #81 after the Marvel series.  This is starting to gain traction and I have to admit, the idea of restarting the classic series would appeal to a lot of older readers rather than a new continuity.

So what do you folks think?  Should IDW throw a bone to old school Transfans like they did to us Joe fans?  Would you read a classic Transformers comic written by Simon Furman?

Awesome Cyclops Cover... on Amazing Spider-Man?

I don't know why Marvel does these sort of promotions, where they give variant covers to every comic in the line whether or not they make sense.  Why is Cyclops on the cover to Amazing Spider-Man #661?  Huh?  Be that as it may, this cover rocks!  I am not familiar with Mario Alberto's work, but he draws one heck of a badass Scott Summers.  Heck I am tempted to buy this variant... but then again I can just right click, Save Image As and get roughly the same effect!

What Looks Good?

Back in the saddle again...

Justice League of America #56 -- Doomsday?  He's gone.  But Eclipso ain't!

Tiny Titans #39 -- All cute, all the time!

Classic GI Joe v.11 -- Yo Joe!  As only Larry Hama can write it.  Speaking of which...

GI Joe: A Real American Hero #165 -- I picked up the first volume of this and let's just say there is a Fair Trade post coming.

Invincible Iron Man #503 -- Fear Itself?  Oy.

Iron Man 2.0 #4 -- Palmer Adley?  I am assuming stil dead.

Silver Surfer #3 -- Is this 5 issues or 4?  Will I get a credit for paying for 5 in advance?

Darkwing Duck #11 -- Femme Appeal... mmmrow!

So, what looks good to YOU?

Earth Destruction Directive -- Episode 3: The Nuclear Option

Well folks, just thought I would stop in and direct you over to my daikaiju podcast, Earth Destruction Directive as Episode 3 is now available for download!  In it I give my thoughts on The Return of Godzilla, AKA Godzilla 1985.  Please give it as listen!

Things are still a little hectic at home with getting the new addition settled and trying to find something of a routine.  I promise I will try to start making posts again sometime either this week or next.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but hey, in the meantime why not listen to the show, huh?

Thanks, everyone!

Hiatus!

As you have seen (or not seen, as the case may be), I have been pretty MIA lately.  The beginning of April is shaping up into a Real Life event horizon for me, between my Fundamentals of Engineering exam this Saturday, work having mandatory OT, and, most importantly, preparing for a visit to the hospital for my wife's C-section this Monday!  So comics and blogging have been tertiary in my mind lately.  I am hoping that things will settle down enough that I can make a few posts here and there in the next couple of weeks but knowing me I'll be more Out than In for a little while.

I wanted to give everyone who took part in the April Fool's Day switcharoo a big shout out, that was a hoot!  Had a lot of fun checking out all of the crazy "new" blogs which popped up.  Head over to Shag's place to get more information.  I had originally considered joining in, turning Being Carter Hall into a page for either Angel or Falcon, but unfortunately did not have the time.

Thanks for your patience everyone!
